The Performing Artists for Balkan Peace (PABP) invites new members (for Mostar project in Aug and others) following the presentation of their nine-country collaboration, Blood and Honey, at the International Festival of Authorial Poetics in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the performance on Aug 18, we will have a short presentation about the Performing Artists for Balkan Peace that will give information to those interested about the mission and goals of the PABP in its current form. We will invite local artists, the public, and Alternative Academy participants to join the PABP in the creation of our next project--three open-air performances on August 25,27,29 in three historic locations in Mostar, created through collaboration--anyone interested is welcome to join us, if they can pay for their own accommodation, the collaboration is without charge. The PABP is currently an expandable network of artists who share a mission of cross-border cooperation, social progress and peace. Currently, we are working out the details for our overall structure, but we always welcome arists, theatre companies, and drama pedagogues to join our network and participate in our projects. We encourage smaller collaborations between members and strive to be a hub for artists to share resources and techniques in order to improve mutual understanding between artists isolated by geography and finanical difficulty. The PABP is an active network of artists who engage in cross-border collaboration as a means to peace and mutual understanding in the Balkan region and beyond -- across borders, ethnicities and languages. The inaugural meeting of the PABP was held in May-June 2005 in Bulgaria. Five directors and twenty-two actors created a collaborative production titled Blood and Honey.
