EU Mobility Pilot Scheme: 9 artists mobility projects selected
Posted: 13-12-2009

The European Commission has announced the nine artists mobility projects selected under the 2nd part of the pilot project for artist mobility.

The call for proposals (EAC/09/2009) was published in March 2009. Its general objective was to explore new ways of funding mobility at EU level, with a view to promoting cultural diversity, reducing imbalances (regional and ingoing / outgoing) and fostering intercultural dialogue.
With a view to contributing to the above general objective, the call aimed to support:

- the strengthening and development of existing joint mobility and artists residency programmes by enabling more structured and sustainable cooperation, including increasing the number of artists from different EU Member States taking part;

- the generation of new joint programmes, formats or structured experiences of mobility, including by artists residencies.

The Commission received 102 applications which were evaluated by an evaluation committee.
