Cultural Diplomacy: a perspective from Catalonia - seminar, Barcelona, 2-4 Dec

The Ministry of Culture and the Media and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Government of Catalonia, in cooperation with Interarts, are organising an international seminar entitled 'Cultural Diplomacy: a Perspective from Catalonia'. This event will take place at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) on 2-4 December 2009.

The seminar aims to contribute, through a description and analysis of the recent developments in models of both cultural diplomacy and international cultural relations, to enrich public policies implemented in these fields in Catalonia. Confirmed speakers include John Holden, Manel Manonelles, Calixto Bieito, Ignasi Aballí, Simona Skrabec, Enric Palau, Jaume Roures, Meritxell Mateu and Dragan Klaic, as well as representatives of the governments of Finland, Japan, Flanders and Quebec, among others, and several Catalan organisations.

The seminar is open to professionals, students and other persons with an interest in culture, cultural policies and international relations. Attendance is free and previous registration is compulsory.
