The Studios is MASS MoCA’s artist and writers residency programme situated within the museum’s factory campus and surrounded by the Berkshire Mountains, USA. Operated by MASS MoCA’s Assets for Artists department, the residency runs year-round and hosts up to 10 artists at a time. Artists of any nationality can apply for stays of two to four weeks.
The Family Fellowship will award up to three fellowships for parent-artists working in any discipline to receive a fully funded 3-week residency during the dates of 6–23 August 2027 and they will be invited to bring their family.
The awarded artist (or artist-couple) will receive a private apartment (three or four bedrooms), and the use of up to two studios on the MASS MoCA campus (24/7 access to studio). They have also reserved slots in ‘Camp MASS MoCA’ to provide care and educational entertainment for the artists’ children from 9am - 3pm on weekdays, so the residency specifically seeks artist-parents with one or more children currently in grades 2–9 so they can take advantage of the summer art camp opportunity.
The awarded artist will also receive a 600 USD general stipend.
