The 2026 Culture Moves Salone Mobility Funds is now calling for applications. It opens new opportunities for artists and cultural professionals in Sierra Leone to strengthen their careers through national and African mobility. Applicants can apply for tailored support enabling exploration, skills development, collaboration, and networking across creative sectors.

Kɔlchɔ de muv Salone/ Culture Moves Salone is an EU-funded programme supporting the development of Sierra Leone’s cultural and creative sectors. This Mobility Call for Proposals aims to strengthen professional skills, networks and market access for Sierra Leonean artists, cultural organisations and creative businesses through structured mobility and learning opportunities, with a strong focus on decentralisation beyond Freetown, youth and women empowerment, and partnerships across Africa.

The fund intends to support a 1–2-week period of professional round trips from Sierra Leone to other African countries only.

All cultural and creative sectors are supported, spanning architecture, audiovisual/media, crafts, cultural heritage, design, fashion/textiles, film, literature, music, performing arts, publishing, and visual arts. Cultural and creative sectors professionals can apply, including, for example, artists, producers, managers, entrepreneurs, researchers, journalists, programmers, curators, etc, based in Sierra Leone.

Fund 2 is for support to mobility across Africa. There will be 10–15 grants of up to 95,000 SLE per grant (with a co-funding minimum of 10%). In July to September there will be a Fund 3, which is a second stage support to mobility across Africa and is intended to provide a second stage support after the first mobility project (of up to 285,000 SLE per grant).

The fund is mainly designed for individual mobility projects, in considering the budget available per mobility. Group mobility is allowed but might be difficult within the maximum amounts available for projects under tiers 1 and 2.
