The FRAC Alsace is launching an open call for an artistic and pedagogical residency for visual artists at the Musée de Saverne, Château des Rohan in Alsace, running from 20 February to 30 April 2026.
This residency is a partnership between the Ville de Saverne, local school institutions, FRAC Alsace and the GIP-Acmisa, with support from the French Ministry of Culture (DRAC Grand Est) and the Grand Est Region.
This opportunity is titled ‘Carte blanche au musée ! Dialogue art contemporain et patrimoine’. The selected artist will be invited to immerse themselves in the museum, its collections and its historic setting, entering into a dialogue between contemporary art and heritage.
Throughout the residency, the artist may freely interpret and respond to the museum’s various sections — such as the Louise Weiss section, the archaeological collection or the history and art fonds — and is encouraged to develop one or more works that resonate with the context.
In parallel, the artist will carry out a pedagogical project, working with several school classes in Saverne.
The selected artist will receive a grant of 6,000 EUR, inclusive of all fees, production costs, rights, and transport. They will also receive accommodation as well as studio and exhibition spaces.
