Interart Culture Center is opening an international call for five professional dance artists to take part in a 40-day contemporary dance residency in Skopje, North Macedonia, implemented within the Culture Moves Europe Residency Host Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
The residency will take place from 22 March to 30 April 2027 and will focus on artistic research, choreographic development, collaboration, and the preparation of a new contemporary dance performance with Skopje Dance Theater.
The project continues Interart Culture Center’s long-term work in contemporary dance production, choreographic laboratories, international collaboration, artist mobility, and the development of Skopje as a regional hub for contemporary dance creation.
The residents will work with the mentoring team of Risima Risimkin (artistic director of Skopje Dance Theater), Adrijana Danchevska Rovchanin, and Dejan Bitrovski, through daily studio work, movement research, individual and collective tasks, knowledge sharing, feedback sessions, and rehearsals.
The residency will lead toward the preparation of a new contemporary dance performance/presentation, developed during the residency period and connected to the programme context of Dance Fest Skopje 2027.
The call is open to professional dance artists legally residing in one of the Creative Europe countries, outside North Macedonia.
Selected residents will receive:
