Sarajevo Theatre Showcase (STS) has announced an open call for its 2026 Showcase programme, which will take place from 11 to 13 September 2026, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Sarajevo Theatre Showcase is a curated regional platform that presents contemporary theatre productions from Southeast Europe to international audiences—including festival directors, artistic directors, producers, curators, and cultural decision-makers. The Showcase is part of the international project New Theatre Market (NTM), which aims to strengthen professional connections between regional artistic production and international opportunities for touring, co-productions, and collaboration.
The organiser of Sarajevo Theatre Showcase is Sarajevo War Theatre – SARTR (Bosnia and Herzegovina), in partnership with Heartefact Foundation (Serbia), Ulysses Theatre (Croatia), Para Film and Theatre (Norway), Binario Vivo (Italy), and Realstage (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
This opportunity is open to professional theatre productions from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia. Eligible applicants include public theatres, independent companies, production houses, collectives, and co-productions. Productions must have premiered between January 2025 and 5 April 2026.
Logistical support provided by the organisers includes accommodation with breakfast, lunch, festival accreditations, technical support, and performances taking place in fully equipped professional theatre venues.
If applying for travel support, this includes:
- Transport of the ensemble and technical team (travel stipend)
- Transport of scenography and technical equipment (travel stipend)
- Where applicable, coverage of required consumable props
