I Suoni delle Dolomiti: Competition for Musical Groups at High Altitude Festival 2025 (Italy)

A group performing in front of an audience in high mountains.

In 2025, ‘The Sounds of the Dolomites’ celebrates its 30th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, Trentino Marketing is launching a special contest in memory of Paolo Manfrini, the festival’s founder. Since 1995, this unique event has brought over 800 musicians to perform outdoors above 2,000 meters, amidst the pristine peaks of the Dolomites.

The contest, offering musical groups the chance to participate in the 2025 festival edition, is open to ensembles of all musical genres, consisting of two to six musicians. All participants must be adults and no older than 35 years as of 31 December 2024.

Groups are required to present performances suitable for outdoor settings at high altitudes, reflecting the festival’s values as outlined in its Manifesto. Instruments must be acoustic and easily portable.

The winning group will receive a prize of 15,000 EUR to invest in their music, along with the opportunity to take part in the 2025 festival edition and perform at a concert organised by La Società Filarmonica Trentina during the 2025/2026 season.

Trentino Marketing will also involve the winning Group of the Competition in a concert for the 30th anniversary of I Suoni delle Dolomiti, that will take place on 2 September 2025, at the Laghi di Bombasel. For this participation, a fee of 1,000 EUR (including VAT and any additional legal charges) will be paid to each group member, along with the reimbursement of incurred expenses for meals, accommodation, and local transportation to the location.

The Trentino Philharmonic Society will involve the winning Group in a concert during the 2025/2026 season, with the date to be agreed upon. Specific conditions and travel/expense reimbursement will be determined later.
