This Public Forum is the final session of the roundtable series “Recalibrating the Compass: What future for Asia-Europe Cultural Relations?”, developed by the Culture Department of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) in 2022.

6 experts from the cultural sector of Asia and Europe, including Yohann Floch, Director of Operations at On the Move, will discuss challenges and approaches in Asia-Europe cultural relations, based on findings and recommendations from the 2022 consultation process. The session will address urgent themes for the arts and culture sectors including the call for change in the current challenging geopolitical context and the need to invest in capacity-building, awareness-raising and advocacy to support a more balanced cultural cooperation.

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) is an intergovernmental not-for-profit organisation which brings together the peoples of Asia and Europe to address common global challenges. Since 2005, ASEF has developed and managed culture360.asef.org, a digital platform reaching out to over 350,000 users that provides information and facilitating dialogue and reflection on the arts and culture of the two regions.
