The LOEWE FOUNDATION is calling for applications for the 2026 Craft Prize, to showcase and celebrate newness, excellence and artistic merit in modern craft.
The prize aims to celebrate and support working artists whose talent, vision and will to innovate promise to set a new standard for the future. The works created by the Winner and Finalists will be included in the exhibition ‘LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2026’ and its accompanying catalogue, on view in Singapore in the spring of 2026 or any other location that LOEWE FOUNDATION may deem appropriate.
The work must demonstrate artistic intent in addition to technical proficiency and it must not have won any prizes previously. It must be an original piece, handmade or partly handmade, recently created (in the last five years), one-of-a-kind, and innovative (in the sense that it updates tradition within an area of the applied arts, such as ceramics, bookbinding, enamelwork, jewellery, lacquer, metal, furniture, leather, textiles, glass, paper, wood, etc.).
The winning entry can be made up of either one single piece of work or one series of work. All participants must be professional artisans 18 years or older. Entries may be made by an individual or collective (as a ‘group submission’). All nationalities are welcome.
The winning entry receives a 50,000 EUR award. The Prize for the works awarded with a Special Mention is 5,000 EUR, regardless of the number of Special Mentions granted. The LOEWE FOUNDATION will notify the Finalists in advance the date of the event in which the Jury will make their decision public. All Finalists, if required, agree to be present in this event and must be able to fulfil press requests if any. The LOEWE FOUNDATION would assume travel and accommodation expenses.
