Refugio Creativo is an artistic residency programme in a shelter for asylum seekers or refugees, called La Fontana, which takes place in Armunia, Spain.
The call for proposals is open to creators from multiple disciplines—film, visual arts, muralism, writing, performing arts, or experimental practices—provided their projects align with the programme’s values: peaceful coexistence, social justice, defence of diversity, and the creation of positive narratives in the face of fear.
La Fontana is also working on launching the Network of Alliances for the Creative Refuge, designed to engage the neighbourhood, institutions, and the broader cultural ecosystem of León. The residency welcomes small or large projects, from all artistic disciplines or action-participation projects. They only expect that artists help in creating an inclusive and rich cultural life, in some way.
The programme offers 10 days of accommodation and full board for a maximum of four people, unlimited access to the small theatre of the centre, production support of 1,650 EUR, and travel assistance of 450 EUR.
