‘Media Art Experiments’ – this is the motto that identifies lab30 festival as a meeting place for local, regional, and international media artists. For four days, about 50 creative artists gather at Kulturhaus abraxas in Augsburg (Germany) and present their latest works in exhibitions, concerts, workshops and performances. lab30 provides an exhibition hall and two stages for manifold experiments with arts and technologies. These experiments take account of our rapidly changing social environment by playfully using new media, by broadening our perspectives and by inviting us to reinterpret conventional and sometimes deadlocked ways of reception. In addition to presenting media art, the festival offers a platform for exchange – among artists and between artists and the audience. Within the landscape of international festivals, lab30 is therefore a unique place for communication and enables lasting encounters.
The festival offers 400 m² of exhibition space and two stages for sound and image experiments. The program of the festival will be curated from the submissions.
