European Concert Halls Offering Eco-Solutions (ECHOES), a project co-funded by the European Union Creative Europe programme, is launching the Eco-Soundscapes Open Call for emerging and mid-career artists working at the intersection of sound, ecology, and sustainability.
A total of five artists will be selected to collaboratively compose and produce the Eco-Soundscapes Album and participate in an international tour across pilot venues in Romania, Greece, Norway, and Ukraine in 2027.
Applicants are invited to propose artistic ideas that:
- Engage with natural, urban, or hybrid sound environments
- Reflect on biodiversity, climate change, or human - environment relationships
- Explore emotional, social, or ecological dimensions of sound
- Can evolve into a shared album concept through collective creation
Field recordings are central to the ECHOES artistic framework.
Activities include residencies, rehearsals, co-creation sessions, contribution to a shared album, and performances during the international ECHOES tour.
Individual artists legally residing in Creative Europe participating countries (EU Member States, EEA/EFTA, candidate countries, and selected European Neighbourhood Policy countries) are eligible to apply.
All travel and recording expenses are covered. Each selected artist receives a participation fee of 1,000 EUR. Works will be co-produced with clear authorship agreements and distributed internationally.
