On the Move conducts research for funders, institutions and support bodies. We work on projects that will benefit from our network and knowledge, and with partners who share our belief in the multidimensional benefits of cultural mobility. As with projects like i-Portunus or Europe Beyond Access, we can help partners to understand the impacts of existing policies and strategies, and to map the evolving situation that new ones must respond to.
Our work as an information provider gives us a body of existing knowledge that we use in our research, but we also carry questions to the field. By surveying stakeholders, conducting interviews, and going through our network we reach a wide array of artists, cultural managers, policymakers, funders, journalists and other professionals in the field.
We’ve worked on research projects, and especially on evaluations, with organisations including the Goethe-Institut, the British Council, IETM, ETC, ENCC, the Indian Ocean Commission, and others. Our research has been referenced in publications by UNESCO, the European Commission and the European Parliament, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies, and many other academic and government bodies.
