Mekong Cultural Hub: Art and Society Mobility Programme for Practitionners from Myanmar, Taiwan or Vietnam

Nine people in a room with bookshelves and a whiteboard, standing and crouched.

The Mekong Cultural Hub, in partnership with its Hub Partners, has launched the pilot Mobility Programme, focused on increasing opportunities for emerging art and society practitioners to develop their knowledge and networks through opportunities to travel and to attend events in Asia.

During the pilot phase each Hub Partner will implement their own programme of travel grants, talks, events and exchanges, using financial and administrative support from MCH. Each Hub Partner’s programme is designed to support outward travel for people from their country (in Myanmar’s case this also includes Myanmar citizens based in Southeast Asia).

Eligible countries are Myanmar, Taiwan or Vietnam. For artists from elsewhere in Asia and who will be visiting Hanoi or Taipei, please contact the relevant Hub Partner as they may be able to host artists for a talk or a workshop.

  • Travel grants from Vietnam and Myanmar: Support up to 500 USD will be given to the grantee to flexibly use for their travel expenses, such as transportation, visa, accommodation, stipends, and work production.
  • Travel grants from Taiwan: A flat rate of 1,500 USD will be given to each grantee prior to their departure to use flexibly for travel expenses such as return flights, visa fees, travel insurance, accommodation, ground transportation, stipends, local language interpretation, work production, and more.

Please refer to Hub Partner webpages for more information on applications and deadlines.
