Under the Moving Identities project, 6 European residency institutions are looking for companies of established performing artists of 2-5 people based in Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Norway, and Spain. The programme targets applicants who can relate to / explore themes of diversity and inclusion within European Identities.

The project MODINA (Movement, Digital Intelligence and Interactive Audience) aims to expand the creative possibilities for contemporary dance performances, and augment the experience for the audience, using digital technology – with an emphasis on exploring artificial intelligence (AI) and audience interaction, on-site and online. The project seeks dance and technology duos for residencies in performance centres in Romania, Slovenia, Estonia, Germany and Hungary. Five 8-week residencies will take place between November 2023 and April 2024.

Borderland Poetics, a cooperation programme between CCA Estonia, Rupert (centre for arts, residencies and education in Lithuania) and Icelandic Art Center, is inviting emerging art professionals of the region to apply for the 2023 project assistant position. There are three different positions available, one in each institution: CCA (Tallinn, Estonia), Icelandic Art Center (Reykjavik, Iceland) and Rupert (Vilnius, Lithuania). The position will be for 1 or 2 months in autumn 2023.

Voices of Culture, the platform for dialogue offered to civil society by the European Commission, is inviting interested organisations from EU member states to apply to participate in the upcoming topic on Culture and Creative Sectors and Industries driving Green Transition and facing the Energy Crisis. Successful applicants will be invited to a brainstorming meeting in the European Capital of Culture 2024, Tartu in Estonia, on 15 and 16 June 2023.

An artist or artist group residing in Estonia, Norway, Austria or Germany is sought to create an outdoor piece for the facade of the Ice Age Centre building in Äksi, Estonia. The residency/realisation will take place July – August 2023. The unveiling of the wall piece will be part of the project Look into my Ice as part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 programme.

Promus, the Music Community of Aarhus (DK) and the Music Cities Network invite 12 European music business professionals to embark on a transnational European expedition from April 2023 until May 2024. On this journey, they will search for answers to the question: How can we boost the European music market?

Chasing the Devil to the Moon: What Does Art under Lunar Occupation Look Like? is an exhibition curated by Corina L. Apostol taking the form of an open call addressed to artists and creators from the Baltics for an artistic commission of recolouring the moon. Faced with such a not-so-improbable task, how would an artist or collective of artists go about it?

Tartu City of Literature residency programme is open to writers and translators (translating from Estonian to other languages). The residency period is 2 months - April-May 2023. Applicants should have at least one published book (fiction or non-fiction), screenplay, theatre script or translation from Estonian into another language.

KORDON invites artists from the Nordic and Baltic region to join a long-term lab and residency process aimed at widening the understanding of food in relation to energy. Each artist will be invited for approx. 11 weeks of residency divided between three different time periods of approx. 1 month. The full cycle will run from summer/autumn 2023 to summer 2024.

Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava in Estonia and Davvi - Center for the Performing Arts in Norway are looking for 4 Estonian artists and 4 Norwegian artists for a collaborative project to develop choreographic interventions in public space. The project consists of 3 parts: 2-week research residency in Tartu in August 2023; 3-week research residency with a public presentation in Bodø in June 2024; 3-week residency and rehearsal period with 3 public performances in Tartu in July 2024.

The visual arts festival Viljandi Tuled 2024, part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 programme, is seeking art installations from artists around the world. The inspirational theme for the installation is the ‘Arts of Survival’. Depending on the characteristics of the installation, the location can either be an indoor or outdoor space.
