A joint initiative by the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum (QOSM) and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Olympic Heritage | Artists in Residence programme aims to push the boundaries of how audiences experience the Olympic Games by bringing together digital art with the Olympic Games’ historic and cultural significance.
Two artists will be selected by an international jury for a three-month residency; one artist will be based at the 3-2-1 Museum in Doha, while the other artist will be based at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.
The Olympic Heritage | Artists in Residence programme provides artists with access to museum collections, mentorship, expert support and resources. The Residency period is 1 September – 1 December 2026.
Applications are invited from artists whose professional practice involves a significant element of digital art. Artists are encouraged to explore any form of new media, which may also be combined with other physical media. Digital artists worldwide who are aged 18–35 can apply.
The residency includes:
- Access to museum collections.
- Accommodation in Doha (Doha residency) or La Becque Artist Residence, La Tour-de-Peilz (Swiss residency).
- Round-trip flight tickets and expenses allowance to cover living expenses.
- Mentorship by the jury.
- 30,000 QAR or 8,000 EUR for the purchase of the resulting artwork for the museums’ permanent collections.
- Participation in an international exhibition as a part of the Cultural Olympiad, including but not limited to the Cultural Olympiad taking place in the context of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
