CIRCUS LOOPS is a Creative Europe cooperation project exploring how audience feedback can actively contribute to contemporary circus creation. Through the development of the Feedback Loops methodology, the project investigates how dialogue with diverse audiences can function as a co-dramaturgical tool in the artistic process.
This open call invites three contemporary circus artists or collectives based in Europe who are in the early to mid-stage of a new creation. Selected projects will participate in a transnational residency programme consisting of three 10-day residencies in Croatia, Germany, and the Netherlands between November 2026 and July 2027.
During the residencies, artists will present work-in-progress showings and engage in structured feedback sessions with both experts and audiences, contributing to both their own artistic development and the evolution of the Feedback Loops methodology.
Following the residency period, artists will present their work in final showings (not premieres) at partner festivals: Circusstad Festival (NL), Split Calling Festival (HR), and ATOLL Festival (DE), between September 2027 and May 2028.
This call is open to individual contemporary circus artists or small companies based in Europe (including Creative Europe countries). The programme supports a core artistic team of up to three people.
The programme provides financial support (a fixed grant of 3,746 EUR gross per core team member), as well as coverage of travel, accommodation, and per diems.
