The Farm: 2026 Residency for Visual Artists Engaging with the Land (Australia)

The Farm is leading Arts Residency programme in Western Australia, offering an opportunity for artists to develop work that engages thoughtfully with the land, in a five-to eight-week residency to be undertaken between February and October 2026.

With a specific focus on site-responsive projects, the Residency provides an immersive space for creative inquiry, fostering connections between the artist(s), environment, and community. It supports artists who are committed to rigorous research, experimentation, and dialogue—encouraging new ways of thinking about land and our relationship to it.

The call is open to Australian and international visual artists, individually or in groups. A valid driver’s licence is strongly recommended due to limited transport options in the region.

The residency provides the following:

  • A 7,500 AUD residency fee
  • Self-contained studio accommodation
  • Opportunities for mentorship and connections with major arts organisations
  • Project support and initial travel expenses to the property
  • Access to a gallery space, workshop, working farm, and natural bushland, fostering a rich and inspiring creative environment
