Haus für Medienkunst Oldenburg: Media Art Grants 2026 (Germany)

Looking up at the top of a building with the words Haus für Medienkunst.

The Haus für Medienkunst Oldenburg (previously Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art) will award three Media Art Grants of the Stiftung Niedersachsen (12,500 EUR each).

The Stiftung Niedersachsen grant at the Haus für Medienkunst Oldenburg supports a wide spectrum of media art, from video art and net-based projects to audio works and audiovisual installations. Each of the three grants will be awarded for the production of a new project in the area of media art.

The grant is valid for a duration of six months (July–December 2026). It cannot be prolonged and residency is compulsory; grant recipients can expect to stay in Oldenburg at least one month (can be spread across several stays). Grant recipients are expected to be involved in the activities of the Haus für Medienkunst, including, for example, running workshops and giving presentations and artist talks.

Both individual artists and artist groups can apply; however, the grant amount is the same for groups as for individuals. It is possible to bring a partner or children, and project collaborators (e.g., sound designers, editors) can also be accommodated by the Haus für Medienkunst free of charge.

Beyond the grant amount of 12,500 EUR and the option to use one of the guest apartments of the Haus für Medienkunst, no further costs will be covered during the residency
