La Biennale di Venezia has announced the Italian and International Calls for two original choreographic creations, to premiere as part of Biennale Danza 2027 in Venice (Italy), the 21st International Festival of Contemporary Dance (15–31 July 2027), directed by Wayne McGregor.
The calls are open to choreographers and dance companies presenting an original choreographic project that has not previously been premiered, either in studio or full form.
The selected projects will receive a production grant of up to 30,000 EUR. The Venice Biennale will also contribute to cover the following expenses:
- artistic cachet for the Venice debut;
- travel and accommodation expenses of the choreographer or the company for the debut in Venice;
- expenses related to the technical rider for the Venice debut.
