PLACE Network: Emerging Leaders Artivism Alliance In Motion! Grant for Europe, Africa and MENA Regions

Title of the call with coloured striped.

Artivism Alliance: In Motion! is an open call supporting artivists of all ages to develop cross-border projects that combine artistic creation with social impact. It is open to groups with experience in artistic creation for social justice who are committed to collaborative, cross-border work.

Selected groups will receive mentoring, access to the broader Artivism Alliance network, and micro-grants to move their ideas from concept to implementation. They are also invited to participate in a residency to deepen connections (March 2027, place to be confirmed), strengthen collaboration, and advance their ongoing work.

Projects supported through this call are expected to foster and promote dialogue between artistic practices and to engage meaningfully with social contexts. Cross-border collaboration will be assessed not only based on geographic diversity, but on the quality of co-creation between team members.

Projects must be delivered between December 2026 and May 2027.

The grant supports transnational group projects that use creativity to drive social change. Projects must:

  • Use artistic creation (not just a theme) as a tool for social impact
  • Involve collaborators from at least two countries
  • Demonstrate meaningful cross-border collaboration in the design, creation, and delivery of the project
  • Engage local communities or audiences in at least one participating country
  • Include at least one Artivism Alliance member with an active role in the project
  • Include 2–4 group members
  • Involve group members who have a migration background

Grants

  • Cross-regional collaborations (group members based in at least 2 different regions, e.g. Africa–Europe, MENA–Africa, or MENA–Europe): up to 2,500 EUR
  • Same-region collaborations (all group members based in the same region, e.g. Africa–Africa, MENA–MENA, or Europe–Europe): up to 1,500 EUR

The micro-grant is intended to cover direct project costs such as materials, production, travel (outside of the residency), communication, and other costs directly related to the project.
