Art lives of international contacts, of border crossing and encounters with other cultures. Despite the availability of effective communication tools, the personal mobility of artists is still crucial. And like all travelers, artists must comply with the existing requirements for the entry, residence and employment in a foreign country.
The Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture has developed, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection, the Austrian UNESCO Commission, a Web-based guide to summarize key information foreign artists willing to work in Austria, as well as for cultural organizers issuing invitations to Austria.
