‘Centring Contemporary Artists in Historic Places: Building & Sustaining Artist Residencies’ invites case studies and discussions focused on artist-centred residency models within historic artist homes, studios, artist archives and artist-endowed foundations.

This Call for Proposals seeks at least 8 heritage organisations to lead ‘Narrative Clusters’, collaborating with interdisciplinary groups of artists/creatives to develop innovative stories that increase the visibility and contemporary relevance of their heritage.

This archive brings together objects, stories, and perspectives that show the long presence of queer, non-binary, trans, inter, feminist/womanist, and other alternative gender expressions in African histories.
