Who Walks Here is a 28-day residency in May 2027, hosted at OvestLab, Amigdala’s civic centre in the Artisan Village, Modena, Italy. The open call invites three artists to explore the neighbourhood’s ongoing transformation through a transfeminist urban lens, in dialogue with local communities.
The residency continues an inquiry Amigdala opened with Transfemina: Intersectional Landscapes, a Creative Europe project through which the collective spent two years investigating the neighbourhood and the city from a feminist perspective.
An outcome of the process must be presented. It must be open to the neighbourhood and first shown at OvestLab in June 2027. A public presentation within Periferico Festival 2027 (October) is a possibility.
The call is open to artists and cultural professionals residing in a Creative Europe country other than Italy. Applicants can apply as individuals (who will then collaborate with the other selected artists) or as an existing collective of up to three people.
Eligible practices include performing arts, choreography and movement, dramaturgy, vocal and sound research, visual and public art, architecture and civic design, oral history and documentary practices, and participatory methodologies.
Costs covered: hosting allowance, daily allowance, and travel allowance (including cross-border travel costs and green top-ups) as set by Culture Moves Europe; accommodation at OvestLab’s guesthouse.
