Daniel et Nina Carasso foundation and Cité internationale des arts are calling for applications from Europe-based artists for the In situ multidisciplinary residency programme, which aims to be both a time and a space for encounters, collective work and individual research, at the very heart of the Cité internationale des arts residency centre, but also an area for the production of knowledge and thematic work around the conditions of existence. The residency period is from 3 October 2024 to 27 March 2025 and the focus of the programme is proposed by María Inés Rodríguez, director of Tropical Papers.

The residency brings together 10 artists from the fields of visual arts and performance, music and sound research, performing arts, design, writing, architecture and urbanism, curating and art criticism, for a period of six months, in Paris on the Marais site of the Cité internationale des arts. The programme focuses on an individual and collective approach to ecological conditions of existence which take into account the reality of a changing world and invent, explore, and experiment with possible modes of action.

During the six months of the residency, the programme will be punctuated by various formats, including collective work sessions, as well as work sessions focused on the accompaniment of individual practice. At the end of the residency, the recipients and María Inés Rodríguez will hold a public restitution in the form chosen by them.

The residency is open to candidates of all nationalities residing within the European Union and at capacity to express themselves and exchange in English. Group applications (duo, couple, collective) are accepted and will result in the attribution of one single live-in studio, one single monthly stipend, one single production grant, and the single payment of transportation costs.

The residency programme includes the following support: professional support, meetings and networking opportunities, studio space, a monthly stipend (1,000 EUR), a research and production grant (2,000 EUR), and reimbursement of transportation costs from the place of residence to the Cité internationale des arts.
