Danish Cultural Institute (DCI) is starting a new chapter in its international portfolio, this time on the African continent. They are therefore looking for an experienced project coordinator with a solid understanding of international development aid and management of international projects. The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of international development cooperation, documented experience in managing cross-cultural and cross-border projects, and – equally important – a genuine interest and belief in arts and culture’s potential to foster societal change and mutual international relations.
The potential candidate must have:
- Documented experience working with management of projects financed by DANIDA and/or any other development aid agency
- In-depth knowledge of project management cycle and all its routines including budgetary follow up and reporting
- Good context understanding of working on the African continent; advantage will be given to candidates with direct experience from working in Kenya/ Eastern Africa
- Documented competences in partnership building and being a team player
- Documented ability to drive complex processes and achieve results
- Interest in and knowledge of Danish cultural life
- Flair for strategic communication and fundraising
- Basic understanding of monitoring and evaluation tools
The project coordinator is preferably based in Denmark with the flexibility and willingness to spend significant time in Kenya/East Africa.
The position is available as soon as possible.
- The salary is aligned with the Danish AC Scale and relevant qualifications.
- The position is full-time (37 hours a week).
- The employment period is one year with a possible extension.
