Ifö Center: 2025 Call for Artwork or Craft for Exhibitions in ‘The Room’ (Sweden)

Factory building with large graffiti on the outside.

Ifö Center calls for artwork/craft from artists and artisans for three separate exhibitions in ‘The Room’ at Ifö Center Arthall in 2025.

Ifö Center Arthall is located in the former Clay Storage of Iföverken Industrial Area, a site in southern Sweden full of ceramic history. The building is rough concrete with tall ceilings. Several exhibitions are open at the same time in different halls. The Arthall is run by a non-profit/artist collective who bought part of the former insulator factory through a crowd funding campaign in 2019. The centre offers studio space, exhibitions, residencies, workshops, guided tours and more. A core part of the operation is to recycle the old factory buildings and the leftovers from the industry. Artwork is displayed with the historic, industrial environment as a backdrop.

Exhibition periods are:

  • First period: May 17 - July 10
  • Second period: July 12 - Aug 28
  • Third period: Aug 30 - Oct 28

The organisers provide the following:

  • 13,600 SEK in exhibition allowance (c. 1,200 EUR)
  • Travel costs to and from the centre in southern Sweden for set up
  • 3 nights of free accommodation during set up and opening
  • Transport costs to and from the centre
  • 2 nights of free accommodation during take down
  • Posters and cards will be printed and distributed by Ifö Center
  • Help from Ifö Center’s staff to prepare for/hang/take down the exhibition
