National Asian Culture Center: CREATORS Residency 2026 on Art and Technology (South Korea)

Text of the call with comic-like elements.

The National Asian Culture Center (ACC) CREATORS Residency aims to establish a sustainable creative production platform through the convergence of art and technology. The programme provides opportunities for CREATORS (including artists, researchers, designers, architects, and engineers) to engage in research, development, production, and exhibition of their multidisciplinary projects.

As technological systems advance in the intelligence age, their impact extends beyond the individual, fundamentally reconfiguring collective experience, interaction, and relationality. AI increasingly replaces lived experience with data, giving rise to environments no longer anchored in physical space or stable identities. The ACC CREATORS 2026 Residency asks how the notion of ‘community’ might be reimagined amid these transformations.

A total of 8 teams will be selected (individuals or teams, up to 2 members per team) for a residency from 27 June to 30 November 2026. The final exhibition will be from 20 to 29 November 2026.

There are three categories:

  • Art & Technology (such installations)
  • Audiovisual (such as live audiovisual installation)
  • Immersive Sound (such as soundscape, immersive and spatial sound, multimedia installations)

The residency provides the following: project budget (30,000,000 KRW for art and technology or 20,000,000 KRW for other categories), stipend (2,500,000 KRW per individual), travel support (one round-trip airfare for international residents only), workspace, and accommodation.
