The National Theatre of Greece is inviting emerging writers, directors, or dramaturgs based in the European Union (excluding Greece) for the 2nd Artistic Residency Programme at the National Theatre, between February and April 2025 in Athens, Greece.
During the programme, three artists-in-residence will have the opportunity to join the National Theatre of Greece, collaborate with its staff, gain in-depth knowledge of how the theatre operates, familiarise themselves with current artistic trends and the cultural life of Athens, and deepen their own research and practice.
The programme is aimed at playwrights, directors, and dramaturgs up to 39 years old, from EU member states (excluding Greek nationality) and based in the EU.
The artistic residency can last up to 75 days and must take place between February 2025 and April 2025.
The National Theatre of Greece will cover the following:
- Travel expenses to and from the artist’s country of residence and Athens
- Accommodation and living expenses during the residency
Note that the programme does not offer a paid position, and each participant will need to arrange their own health insurance during their stay in Greece.
