Reggio Parma Festival is calling for applications from creative teams and individual professionals, of any nationality and not over 35 years old, to participate in Gradus, a project aimed at fostering sharing/cross-fertilisation amongst generations of knowledge boosting creative development of new shows.
In 2026, there will be two work sessions where attendance is mandatory:
- In Parma, 30 – 31 October and 2 – 4 November 2026: Participation in meetings, classes, seminars and discussions amongst teachers and participants.
- In Reggio Emilia, 30 November – 3 December 2026: Classes, seminars and meetings with the management of the theatres to start the participants towards a more precise definition of their project.
At the end of the sessions, the participants shall review and fine-tune their project and send it to the Reggio Parma Festival secretariat by 15 December 2026. In January, three of these shows will be selected to be staged; with the support of Reggio Parma Festival, the shows will be included in the Festival Aperto, Festival Verdi and Teatro Festival, Italy.
Eligible applicants are creative teams (consisting of no more than 3 members for the training path) or individuals of any nationality not over 35 years old with a recognisable artistic background in the fields of dramaturgy, musical composition, theatre and opera direction and set design, choreography. Submitted projects must not have been implemented or staged. No more than 10 projects will be selected.
The scholarship is 1,200 EUR gross to be used to cover the costs and expenses to stay in Parma and Reggio Emilia in the initiatives and classes in 2026.
