The Tanja Liedtke Foundation Fellowship 2026 is an open call for an emerging dance-theatre artist based in Europe to shape their own artistic journey with support to explore, experiment, and grow. This fellowship takes a new form compared to previous formats, allowing the recipient the freedom to craft their own artistic journey.

The Fellowship must be completed between 1 April and 1 September 2026, for a maximum duration of one month.

This opportunity is offered by the Tanja Liedtke Foundation and emphasises personal exploration, innovation and creative expression within the dance-theatre medium. Rather than supporting final stages of existing work or formal presentations, it invites proposals for mentorships, workshops, residencies, collaborations and other modes of self-directed artistic development.

Applicants may propose itineraries that include mentorships, workshops, residencies and collaborations with established artists or organisations. Funds are to be used as detailed in the proposed budget to cover all project-related expenses. The primary focus is on the process of creative development rather than on producing completed work for performance or public presentation.

Applicants must be aged 35 or under at the time of submission, resident in the European Union, have a European bank account with valid IBAN, and be able to issue an invoice. The art form must be in the dance-theatre field.

The Fellowship offers funding of up to 10,000 EUR. In addition to financial support, the Foundation offers assistance shaping the proposal, guidance on organising the project, and ongoing mentoring or sounding-board support during the fellowship.
