The FIA Live Performance Webinar on Health & Safety and Mental Health will take place on 22 May 2025, from 17:00 to 19:00 CEST.
The FIA (International Federation of Actors) Live Performance Webinars are a series of online events that explore key issues affecting the live performance sector. First launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, the webinars reflect the Federation’s strong commitment to supporting live performance professionals and tackling the unique challenges they face. These sessions also serve as a valuable forum for unions representing live performance workers to connect, share knowledge, and exchange best practices.
Following previous editions that examined the pandemic’s impact and sustainable production practices, the upcoming webinar will centre on Health and Safety in Live Performance, with a particular emphasis on Mental Health.
Health and Safety have always been central to the work of trade unions. Since its inception, FIA and its member unions have worked tirelessly to improve performers’ working conditions and ensure their safety on and off stage. Yet as the industry evolves, new risks emerge – demanding that unions remain vigilant, adapt to emerging challenges, and develop innovative solutions.
From antisocial working hours and frequent travel to performing intimate scenes and facing online harassment, performers are exposed to a range of unique challenges that can impact their physical and mental wellbeing. This webinar will address both emerging and persistent health and safety concerns in the live performance, while highlighting key initiatives aimed at protecting and promoting the health, safety, and mental wellbeing of performers.
