The International Choreographic Festival of Blois (Blois Danse), which will take place in Blois, France, from 3 to 12 July 2025, is calling for applications from emerging and established companies/choreographers.
The Festival aims to bring the art of dance to the city of Blois, France and to democratise this art form by offering performances, dance short-film screenings, master classes, performance workshops and community outreach events. The professional performances will take place from 4 to 6 July 2025.
The Festival invites theatre programmers/producers to attend the show, with the hope that it can lead to further opportunities for the companies.
Up to six companies are invited to perform each year. The Festival is specifically looking to present contemporary dance, modern dance, jazz, hip-hop and breakdancing. Other styles are welcome to apply as well.
Each invited company will perform at two shows (two different evenings). The Festival asks each company to perform a different piece at each show. The maximum duration of each piece is 25 minutes and cannot be less than 5 minutes. Pieces must be suitable for all audiences (no nudity) and there must be a maximum of four dancers per company.
Each participating company will receive:
- 200 EUR/dancer
- Up to 100 EUR/dancer to support travelling costs
- Hotel and breakfasts for all dancers
- Pictures from the performances
- Press coverage (previous editions of the festival included written press/TV/Radio)
- Gala evening cocktail
- Free pass to attend festival events
- Opportunity to teach two master classes (and will receive 50% of the revenue)
