The Zürich-based association TANZBACKSTUBE has announced that the third edition of our choreographic development platform BRÜCKEREI will taking place at Tanzhaus Zürich from 6 to 18 July 2026.
This year’s edition will centre on improvisation as a mode of creation and performance. The process will emphasise collective research, compositional tools, and real-time decision-making. Sketches from the research will be shared with the public during an informal showing on 18 July 2026.
For this upcoming edition, they are looking for:
- 3 choreographers (1 local, 1 national, 1 international)
- 12 Swiss-based professional dancers
- 12 local amateur dancers
BRÜCKEREI #3 will be mentored by the award-winning Swiss artist Thomas Hauert. The platform represents a unique opportunity for supraregional artistic exchange, further education in choreography, and intensive process-oriented creative research in an inclusive context.
The programme welcomes applications from choreographers at any stage of their career, regardless of background, gender, or age. Selected choreographers, residing outside Zürich, will be provided with a travel allowance, accommodation and per diem.
