Fleetstreet: Residency Programme for Artist Groups 2026–2027 (Germany)

Fleetstreet Theater Hamburg, together with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the Hamburg Cultural Foundation, and the Rudolf Augstein Foundation, has a residency programme for artist groups that work across disciplines, using the performing arts, visual arts, film, and/or music.

The Fleetstreet Residency programme is designed to support young groups with manageable financial resources to develop productions suitable for smaller theatre spaces. The funding also provides opportunities to deepen research, test new strategies, and develop work processes. The final presentations can take the form of showings, interim presentations, discussions, exhibitions, workshops, or similar, and do not necessarily have to be performed as a finished production.

Residencies will be awarded for the period from March 2026 to March 2027.

The groups will be provided with the Fleetstreet Theater in Hamburg and a residential studio (three rooms, kitchen, and bathroom) in the immediate vicinity of the theatre for a period of one to three months. In addition, the artists will receive funding from the Hamburg Cultural Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Media, and the Rudolf Augstein Foundation in the amount of 1,000 EUR each per month to cover the costs of implementing and presenting their project (a total of 3,000 EUR per month is available to the artists or group).
