Konrad and Paweł Jarodzki Artist-in-Residence Programme at the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe is calling for artists to develop research-based projects in dialogue with the site’s history, educational activities, and contemporary social challenges. The residency will take place in Krzyżowa, Poland, from 21 September to 31 October 2026.
During artists’ stay in Krzyżowa, they have an opportunity to focus both on their individual and joint work and on interacting with groups participating in the exchanges of the International Youth Meeting Centre.
The organisers dedicate the residency programme to artistic practices that are sensitive to the social and natural environment and that are committed to working through the past or experimenting with the future. They support a diversity of attitudes, media and artistic practices. They examine how, with the help of art, it is possible to engage in dialogue and make intercultural connections. They operate in an international artistic environment, rooted in Central and Eastern Europe, Lower Silesia and in the history of Polish-German dialogue.
The programme’s partner is 66P Subjective Institution of Culture in Wrocław.
The call is open to visual artists, performative and interdisciplinary artists from Creative Europe Eligible Countries (except from Poland).
The residency provides:
- 6-week stay in Krzyżowa
- financial support and production budget
- workspace, travel reimbursement and accommodation
- curatorial guidance and support of foundation team
- time for research and artistic development
- opportunities to present and discuss the work with local and international audiences
