For the second year, Le Garage Moderne opens a residency cycle within the OASIS project. Five grants are available to international artists. For all artists, the residency includes a two-week stay on-site in Bordeaux between November and December 2026.

Le Garage Moderne is a cultural and capacity-building centre. The residency includes 2 days of masterclass opened to our members and community located in the Bacalan District of Bordeaux. It is a non-profit car garage and bicycle workshop, a canteen operating as a neighbourhood restaurant offering sponsored meals for those in need, and a cultural venue hosting 11 permanent artists, makers, and craftswomen. The venue also operates a versatile space activated for performing arts events, concerts, and community gatherings. It is both a productive space, a public space, and a community-driven common.

The residency includes two days of masterclass opened to the members and community.

Any discipline is welcome: design, visual art, performing arts, film, small-scale architecture, emergency architecture, craft-making, street furniture, sound, and interdisciplinary or community-based practices. They especially encourage proposals that combine artistic creation with spatial and social practices.

Applicants may choose one or more:

  • 9–22 November
  • 16–29 November
