Salzburger Kunstverein is now accepting applications for its 2025 Writers-in-Residence Programme, in partnership with Spike Art Magazine.
During their month-long stay in Salzburg, Austria, (between May and December 2025) emerging and mid-career writers are invited to produce one text related to SKV’s 2025 programme ‘Picturing Justice’. The text will be paid for and published by Spike, a platform that shares the Kunstverein’s goal of fostering critical, unconventional thinking on urgent themes in arts and culture.
The winning writers will be selected by a jury of Spike Editor-in-chief Rita Vitorelli; Spike Editor Isabella Zamboni; and Salzburger Kunstverein Director Mirela Baciak.
Applications must include a summary of relevant professional experience; a pitch of up to 300 words for a text in relation to SKV’s programming; and one sample of recently published writing – such as an article or an exhibition text.
Each residency entails a studio apartment, a scholarship of 900 EUR, health insurance, editorial mentorship and networking opportunities, and access to a bicycle.
