Launching its short-term international artist residency programme in 2024, Zhuwei Artist Village (also known as Bamboo Curtain Artist Village) invites international applications from artists who excel in driftwood creation or sewing machine works, and who can propose interactive community and environmental projects. Two international artists over the age of 20 will be selected for the programme.
Located near an urban area and the natural landscapes of the Tamsui Mangrove Forest, the Village offers a blend of modern convenience and nature. It provides access to resources related to contemporary Taiwanese art, facilitating collaboration and exchange between local and international artists. The programme invites international artists to experience the artistic vitality of northern Taiwan through a short-term residency.
The residency period is from 15 June to 15 September 2024 (maximum duration of two months). Each resident artist is required to present at least one workshop and one open studio event or similar public activity.
Financial support for the residency includes one round-trip economy class international airfare, domestic travel expenses, materials expenses for creation, and a daily living allowance. The residency will also provide accommodation and studio space, access to resources and support to conduct public events.
