Tirana Bicycle Cultures Residency is a one-month residency in Albania (1 September to 1 October 2026) for five emerging artists and cultural professionals who want to explore bicycle culture, mobility, public space and climate narratives through research, exchange and creative practice.
The residency is structured in two phases: one week in Tirana for research, meetings, urban observation and exchange; followed by three weeks in Vuno, Albania, for a slower period of meditation, reflection, experimentation and creation.
The project invites artists and cultural professionals to work with the bicycle as more than transport: as a cultural object, a tool for access, a way to read the city, and a lens for telling stories about climate, safety, public life, memory and belonging.
The organisers are looking for five artists or cultural professionals whose practice connects with community, public space, mobility, climate, storytelling, sound, image, movement, performance, design, writing, research, education or socially engaged art. Applicants need to originate from and be legally residing in one of the Creative Europe countries.
The residency offers accommodation, per diems, creative space, travel support and top-ups.
