‘Centring Contemporary Artists in Historic Places: Building & Sustaining Artist Residencies’ is a six-part international virtual seminar series presented by Historic Artists’ Homes & Studios (HAHS) and the Artist Studio Museum Network (ASMN). They invite case studies and discussions focused on artist-centred residency models within historic artist homes, studios, artist archives and artist-endowed foundations.
They are seeking presenters whose work engages directly with the development, implementation, or evolution of residency programmes. Proposals are welcome from artists, curators, residency organisers, researchers, and other arts professionals. This nuts-and-bolts series centres practitioners who have built residency programmes that support contemporary artists and demonstrates how artists contribute new insight and offer fresh ways of understanding and reframing a site’s history through their creative practice.
