The Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation, in collaboration with 10 local organisations from the cultural and creative sector selected through a call for applications, is launching this call for applications aimed at artists from the Union for the Mediterranean (Euromed) region, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean region and Southern Europe, for a residency in Matera lasting four consecutive weeks between September and November 2026. The theme is ‘Terre Immerse – Euro-Mediterranean Creative Communities’.
The programme is aimed at artists and creative professionals from the Euro-Mediterranean region who wish to develop a residency project in Matera, in collaboration with an organisation in the cultural and creative sector, as part of Matera – Mediterranean Capital 2026.

Each project proposal specifies the timeframe for carrying out the activities.
Support includes:
- Payment of artist fees;
- Coverage of logistical costs (travel, board and lodging);
- Coverage of the running costs of the workspace;
- Funding of production costs relating to the final output and weekly events;
- Management of the communications budget (social media management and information materials).
