Opu Collective: Neighbourhood Co-Storytelling Interactive Map Research and Art Residency 2026 (Cyprus)

Title of the call in big letters on colours.

Opu Collective invites residents to participate in the creation of a digital interactive map of the Agioi Omologites neighbourhood in Nicosia, Cyprus, from 7 September to 23 October 2026.

Aligned with the core goals of Opu Collective to contribute to the revitalisation of the area and to improve urban life through citizen participation, advocacy and interdisciplinary collaboration, the goal is to create a map that will give voice to the people that already live there, and attract both locals and tourists to visit.

The residents will explore the neighbourhood through walks, meetings and research. These observations will lead to the creation of a digital map that documents everyday mobility, local stories and history. The goal is to highlight what makes the area distinctive and to establish a foundation for future community initiatives and partnerships. The digital map will need to be flexible, easily adaptable for future adjustments and create a sense of unity between the residents of Agioi Omologites.

The residency is looking to form an interdisciplinary team that will co-create one common map. Each person will contribute to the project based on their own skillset. Specifically, the organisers are looking for:

  • A Graphic Designer
  • A Multimedia Designer
  • A Sociologist/Historian/Geographer
  • An Urbanist

Applicants must be able to prove Creative Europe Participating Country Residency List and be no older than 35 years old.

The residency will provide travel (400 EUR), accommodation (shared), a daily allowance (30 EUR per day), and top-ups .
