The Supporting Act Foundation: Impact Grants and Creative Bursaries 2025 for Underrepresented Artists and Organisations

In response to the increasing precarity of arts funding, The Supporting Act Foundation is as committed as ever to its mission of creating opportunities for underrepresented voices in the arts, working to empower emerging artists and arts-focused nonprofits and enabling them to meet their creative potential.

The Supporting Act Foundation has launched its fourth annual open call for:

  • 10 Impact Grants of 50,000 EUR, awarded over two years, to support arts-focused nonprofits
  • 10 Artist Grants of 10,000 EUR for emerging artists from underrepresented communities

The Grants are for those based in Belgium, Germany, Spain, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal or the United Kingdom (or working with a fiscal host in one of these countries in the case of the Impact Grant).

Artists must self-identify as an emerging artist and be in the early stages of their career, with 2 to 10 years of professional experience actively pursuing artistic work as the main focus of their career.

Applicants must identify as belonging to one or more groups that are underrepresented or face systemic barriers in their country’s creative and cultural industries. This includes—but is not limited to—racialised communities, LGBTQIA+ people, disabled artists, migrants, refugees, and those from low-income backgrounds.

In line with trust-based philanthropy, all of these grants will be unrestricted. That means recipients are free to use the funding however they see fit. This no-strings attached take on arts funding is informed by research into the most effective methods for addressing the precarious conditions and restricted opportunities that face both non-profit organisations and emerging artists from marginalised groups.
