The Artists Development Programme (ADP) – the European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute’s talent accelerator for emerging European visual artists under 35 – has officially launched its 2024 edition. The EIB Institute has opened four calls for applications:
- Two visual artists from an EU Member State to work on the theme ‘Disruption: The Imprint of Man’
- One visual artist from an EU Member State to work on the theme ‘The Future of Water’
- One visual artist from Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Finland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Slovakia
- One visual artist from Ukraine
For the first time, this year’s ADP laureates will benefit from two mentors: Franco-Italian visual artist Tatiana Trouvé, who already mentored the 2022 and 2023 editions; and professor, theorist and art critic Christophe Kihm.
Moreover, the 2024 edition will take place in two locations: The Cité internationale des arts in Paris, and neimënster (Neumünster Abbey Heritage Site for Culture) in Luxembourg. 2024 Laureates will spend the first two months of their residency in Paris (from the beginning of September until the end of November 2024) and will move to Luxembourg to complete the ADP cycle in close proximity to the EIB.
For each of the residencies the EIB Institute will cover the artist’s travel costs to Paris, from Paris to Luxembourg, and from Luxembourg. The artist will receive an 80 EUR flat-rate daily allowance to cover his/her living costs during the residency and all or part of the production costs, and will be provided with a living/working space.
In addition to the above, the artist will be granted a contribution towards production of 500 EUR at the beginning of the residency and a success fee of 1,000 EUR at the end of the residency, provided that he/she has produced a work or body of works. Upon completion of the residency, the EIB may consider acquiring an artwork produced on-site by the artist.
